My friend Alan asked me to include a map of where I’ll be living. For those of you geographically challenged Bangladesh (formally East Pakistan) borders both India to the east and Burma to the west.
I’ll be living in the faculty housing at the Independent University of Bangladesh in the Northern part of Dhaka (Population 12 million). Once I get settled I’ll begin posting photo’s and notes from the trip.
An interesting article about Bangladesh by Robert Kaplan was published in the Atlantic Magazine in January 2008.
